My Samsung j6 mobile which I recently got on a 2 year contract with Virgin was accidentally smashed and was not insured so i had to buy a new phone. I could not afford a new Samsung so got another make put my sim in and set up and made calls ok wifi ok but no data. Tried everything set it to on it showed it was connected to Virgin 4G tried to connect to internet but kept saying data turned off.
I have set up quite a few phones so it's not me being dim but just in case I got my grandson to try and no joy. Tried my wifes sim (same contract with Virgin) still no data. Went to another area to try no good. The reviews on the new phone were good and no one said they had problems with data.
Does Virgin block data on phones it does not recognise from the set contract.
