Most likely the phone will need unlocking from Virgin bur I woul try a SIM from a different network first to be sure.

Virgin may have an unlock code but the model  was released 13 years ago and Nokia have changed hands twice since then so it may not be possible

Worth saying that if it's still working with a current Virgin Mobile SIM then it's already unlocked.

That needed to be done in the recent SIM swap activity as the current SIMs have a different network ID to those older Virgin Mobile devices were locked to.
