Mobile signal now not available on new handset

I make a lot of calls in my kitchen at the back of the house. Last week I got a new handset and now there is no signal at all in the kitchen. If there is suddenly signal to make the call it drops off shortly after connecting. The sim card hasn't changed so don't understand why this is happening. Nothing has changed in the house or the street/road outside. Would a replacement sim card improvement things?

What handset did you have and what do you have now?

Does it lose signal any where else at all?

Yes as having to reset the new phone but I never had to use it before.

From a OnePlus 6 to Google Pixel 6. Signal is other rooms seems unchanged
