Hi there Teabag, i have checked this with one of my colleagues and as this seems to be something set within the handsets we are unable to stop these.

Thanks for that reply! But that is odd I have never had this issue before since I had the very first iPhone and I have been on all the major networks Including EE which supplies virgin.

So I think that is a fob you off answer.

Just sounds like the new system is set to send them, with no option in place to turn them off 😖

Obviously  whatever it is in the handset it effects all versions of Andriod, iOS and Windows 10 Smiley Very Happy

Hi All,

The missed call SMS should only be sent if voicemail is not set up for both PAYM & PAYG customers. 

I need to check a few more details with you about the missed call SMS's you continue to receive so our techs can look into this.

Please send me a private message by clicking this link: PM me here and provide all of the following details:

  1. Note this on your PM: Reference #14128447/#14129153: Missed Call SMS 
  2. Do you have full signal when the call comes through?
  3. Is your handset powered on when the call came through? The missed call text would be sent if there was no signal or the handset was switched off and the call didn't reach your handset.
  4. Are you using the purple or red SIM card?
  5. Is your voicemail service activated on your mobile number? Please test to make sure that voicemails can be left and also picked up on your handset.
  6. Full name on account
  7. Mobile number

I have raised a fault ticket on this so our techs can investigate why the Missed Call SMS is being sent when your voicemail is active.

Thanks for getting my fault ticket looked into :-)

Nearly perfect now:

if someone calls me and does not leave a message, the missed call SMS have stopped, but if I reject the call - I still receive a missed call SMS :-(

The "you have new voicemail SMS" did take a few toggles on and off in the voicemail options, but it did eventually turn off OK.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for getting back to me. Our techs have asked for a few more details if you are still getting the Missed Call SMS's when rejecting calls:

 

Please check the voicemail number you access from your handset? (Call settings>Voicemail Settings)--with the Purple/Red SIM, it should be +447458333222.

With the old Red SIM, it should be +447953222222.

 

Next, please increase the rings for voicemail:

Dial **61* followed immediately by your voicemail number and ** 30 # followed by the Call or Send Key on the phone. This will change the number of rings to 30 seconds, which is the maximum.

 

Please let me know how this goes.
