Loss of signal

The last week has been dreadful with little or no signal in my area , family cannot get through and I cannot make a call that does not end with a call failed message !!! I am having to use my landline at extortionate call rates .

I contacted Virgin today and was asked to take sim out ,wipe with cloth and reinsert , this made no difference whatsoever . I understand from doing a little research that Virgin has moved from ee to vodaphone and is causing similar issues for many people . What are we supposed to do in these circumstances , the service or lack of it is frustrating and not worth the monthly fee. 

What are customers supposed to do ???

Thank you for reaching out to us in our community and welcome back, sorry to hear you have been facing little or no signal in your area recently, I have been able to find you on our system and cannot see anything which has changed causing this, are there any issues in the area showing here, are you able to try your Sim card in a different phone to see if the same occurs?
