Issues with Number Transfer

I switched to Virgin a week ago, I have provided the PAC code to Virgin.
The transfer hasn’t taken place and I cannot receive or make calls with my existing number.

This is very frustrating. Surely, it shouldn’t take this long to switch.

Re: Issues with Number Transfer

you need to call them from a land line. This sort of issue is less common than it was but still happens.

Ring and keep ringing as the won't resolve it until they know about it

It's a user self-help style forum so doubtful they will resolve from your post

Re: Issues with Number Transfer

It doesn’t appear to be just you. VM clearly have issues and aren’t letting on.
I cannot currently access my online mobile account. I’ve been trying to access it for a few weeks to PORT a number with a PAC from Vodafone to a new VM mobile phone (a 4th phone on my account, all family, which the encourage incidentally).
I’ve tried online Chat, twice and called in on 789 once. On each occasion the advisor said they couldn’t carry out the request but wouldn’t explain why, other than, there’s an issue which should be resolved in 3-5 days, call back then.
During another attempt today with online chat (because my online access to my account is still unavailable), the advisor was once again unable to PORT the number for me, despite it being a routine task for them. On this occasion however,  she was willing to share the fact, my account had been flagged with a “possible fraud” marker and a 3-5 day investigation was on going. It’s been weeks!! In the meantime I have to keep paying Vodafone and VM.
From other posts, there appear to be other customers being denied access to their accounts. I know I’ve not committed any fraudulent act through my account, I’m interested to know who VM think has. I remain frustrated and as of tomorrow, out of pocket.

Re: Issues with Number Transfer

If the number your posting (either of you) was originally a Virgin number that has been moved around, you may have a bigger issue. I'd still advise call them. Its been a while since I worked for Virgin but if it was an old virgin number then, it could easily be lost and never recovered.

Look at the first post and you will see it has been escalated by email. You will also see a red triangle in the corner as you scroll through threads. If you do that means it has been escalated to the team by one of the VIPs or one of the mods for a colleague to pic up.
