Incoming calls only from "Private number"

Since 25th August, all incoming calls from any number (whether I have them in my phonebook or not has no bearing) appear to originate from "Private number". I have changed various Caller ID related settings to no avail. I am sure of the date because I received calls on 24th August which came through normally.

This is extremely frustrating, would someone be able to advise accordingly. Thanks.

I use a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 device and this pertains to my mobile service.

Looking closely at the forums there seem to be a flood of these reports coming in - emblematic of a wider issue.
