Huawei P smart

Micka
Tuning in

Hi, not sure if anyone can give me advice, I have a Huawei P smart phone which is now out of contract. I have ordered a new Sim from Virgin at a cheaper rate. It states on the contract the phone must be compatible for 5g and I’m unsure if it is. Would it still work if it wasn’t?

Thanks

The phone only needs to be compatible with 5G to work on the 5G service.

If not it will happily work on 4G 3G and 2G even with a 5G SIM. Let's face it no everywhere has 5G

Thanks for your post @Micka.

Sadly the handset would need to be 5G compatible.

There are three elements required to work on a 5G service;

1) The SIM and tariff are 5G

2) The mast you're connecting produces a 5G service

3) The handset is compatible with 5G services

Kindest regards,
