Freestyle Contract - Cancel Sim

I currently have a freestyle phone contract for a Samsung Note 8 and SIM. Now my understanding is the Sim contract is separate from the phone. Thus can I cancel the Sim while keep paying for the phone?

The reason for cancelling the Sim is there is no signal at all in the house. This isn't just relating to Virgin Mobile it seems to effect all 4 of the main phone providers (Thus effecting the virtual phone providers too) and I'm looking to move to a provider with wifi calling.

Looking foward to the replies, thanks in advance.

Re: Freestyle Contract - Cancel Sim

No guarantee you will get wifi calling even if you go with a network that offers it and a phone where you can switch it on.
Some make it that only phones using their firmware will work. Three are opening this up on the latest phones.

Re: Freestyle Contract - Cancel Sim

We have a Samsung A5 (2017) in the house with retail firmware on it, it's got a ID Mobile (Three) SIM in it and WiFi calling works, so maybe one network you could look into/try.
