Entire mobile service not working

I recently went to Holland and took 2 days to sort out using my phone as normal in a foreign country. I have returned to England and my service has been down since. I have reset phone. Changed my settings back to normal. Tried connecting automatically and manually and every time I do so it says unable to connect. Tried taking some card out. Nothing seems to work was on hold with virgin for an hour and got hung up on before speaking to anyone. Tried again and disconnected after 45 minutes. Don't have access to another phone now to call so about stuck. Help anyone please
