I am just going to ask a few question to see how we can assist you best with your roaming issues.
Did you manage to set up data roaming before you let the UK?
Are you currently inside or outside of the EU?
When you log in to your virgin mobile account dose this show if roaming is switched on?

Us customers have no account options for "data roaming", just a "roaming" on or off switch - which is on for the OP as calls and texts are working.
The "data roaming" switch is only on your (Virgin) side, which only you can see and control :-(
