Can receive sms but cannot send

Hi, 

 

I cannot send sms messages but I can receive them. It keeps saying failed when I try to send.

Thank you for posting and welcome to Virgin Media Community.

 

I'm sorry to hear that you are not able to send sms. Are you getting the same message to all the numbers you are trying to send the text to?

 

I would recommend for you to do manual network search. For Android,  go to your phone's Settings> Network Settings> Network Operators> Search Network> Virgin.

 

For Apple phone, tap Settings>Carrier>Turn off the Automatic slider switch, then wait until it searches for available networks> Select Virgin

 

If the above option still does not work, you can check on Short Message service centre number (SMSC) and make sure it is set  to +447458399008

using these steps:

 

  1. From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
  2. Find and tap Phone.
  3. Type *#*#4636#*#*.
  4. Tap Phone information.
  5. Scroll down to SMSC.
  6. Enter the relevant SMSC number in the input field, then tap Update (make sure it is set to +447458399008)
