Call to my own mobile number from landline connects me to stranger

I called my own mobile number using two different Landline phones at two different locations and on both occasions the same stranger answered the phone saying I was through to the Libyan Embassy - as if my phone number had been hijacked via that relatively outdated telephone system. Has anyone had a similar experience please and what would you do even if you haven't. Calls from other mobile phones work as normal.

Many apologies for the issues faced with the calls, firstly can I just ask are both landlines on different providers to Virgin? 

Also regarding the mobile calls, were they from different providers?
