Android security updates

I have a Moto G8 plus handset which is still on Android 9 Sept 2019 security update from the time of purchase however I understand they have released 3 updates since OTA. Are these in a queue awaiting Virgin approval?

Re: Android security updates

Hello

These will be awaiting approval from the phone manufacture first before they will go OTA.

Re: Android security updates

I'm not sure that Virgin do their own firmware on many of the phones they sell these days.

More likely the manufacturer

Re: Android security updates

If your phone has the standard "retgb" firmware, the updates/patches are straight from Motorola.

Have you tried to manually update:

To check for available updates wirelessly/over-the-air:

  1. Touch

  2. Touch Settings
  3. Touch System
  4. Touch Advanced
  5. Touch System Updates

If it's not picking them up, throw a post on the Motorola Forum for some help.
