Hi I keep getting a call from this number 08001836417 and if i do not answer in in time. they go to my voice mail saying they are from Virgin Media and want to give me a special deal and ask for personal details. I asked them to send me an Email with more info, but suddenly they end the call. can someone tell me if this a a spam call Gwynneth
I can confirm that this is a Virgin Media sales number. if you are getting a lot of these calls and you would like to have them stopped please contact the team on 789 from your mobile, 150 from a Virgin Media landline or you can dial 0345 6000 789 from any other telephone and we can have a no marketing notice applied on your account.
This number has called me twice a day for the last week, 10 calls in all. They hang up when the call goes to voicemail. This has frightened me and I consider it harassment. I've been a Virgin customer for more than a decade and if you don't stop I will change to another network. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Do you really think it will make anyone buy your products?
I have been receiving calls from this number twice a day for the last week. The caller hangs up when the phone is answered. I did as the person called Kelly suggested and phoned 789. I spoke to a woman in the Phillipines whose English was so poor that she wasn't able to hold a conversation. All she did was repeat what I said back to her. I asked her to stop the calls and she said she couldn't. She said all she could do was register a complaint. When I asked her if she was serious, she said 'bye bye, have a nice day' and hung up. I have been a Virgin Media customer for more than a decade. I will now find another provider.

Nobody could accuse you of putting yourself out. Virgin Media are breaking the law by making these calls. When I bought a Virgin SIM card I opted out of sales and marketing calls and you have broken the terms of the Data Protection Act. And your response is you're 'going to look into it'.
I will be changing to another mobile phone provider.
