Just received a call on my non-Virgin mobile from this number claiming to want to "upgrade my internet" and asking for my personal details. When I countered by asking for evidence like my account number to prove the call was legit I was told she "I was obviously not the real Mr Gill" and she would "call the real one". Yeah, good luck with that
I told Virgin years ago I no longer wanted sales calls and they honoured my request but now after having changed my contract I've started receiving annoying calls again. Requested to be taken off their potential sales list a second time, went quiet for a while but now they have started again.
I don't want any sales calls "ever" from anyone including Virgin, if I want to make any changes in any way shape or form I will organise myself without any prompting from whoever and especially not over a mobile phone.
Yes, I have had many of these calls and refuse to give details. I kind of hope that this is scam because if not it is very poor telemarketing approach by VirginMedia who should know better.
I live in hope but am also concerned that if it is a scam there may be compromises of security going on in VIrgin's CRM that may impact us all. If this is the case it needs addressing. Has anyone had a useful feedback from Virgin on this issue? I feel "radio silence" is deafening and maybe indication that something is wrong. Think AOL, btinternet/Yahoo, etc. short term protection of business reputation is all very well.........
This number has called me every weekday for over a week between 9am and 5pm. Each call I have answered they have asked me about my internert experience ( As I only have Internet with Virgin Media). This is something I have been trying to speak to Virgin about for months becuase it is BAD! And I keep getting fobbed off and sending to the Technical Services. I Know alot about the networks and internet and all the information I get is utter rubbish.
I ask them to call me after 5.30 so when I get home I can talk, as I cant at work and I feel this conversation is going to last a long time. They have not once called me after 5.30 but proceed to call me everyday between 11am and 2pm.
I have just had a call from this number. I gave my address and was told of great things I can get as a valued customer. She then asked my bank name and the name on my account. By this time I was beginning to get worried as that should be on my records and I terminated the call. I only answered as I was expecting a workman whose customer service number is 08000 otherwise I wouldn't have answered it. But surely if they are making the unsolicited calls especially to a land line they shouldn't ask questions that puts doubts in people's minds to the validity of the calls. Am glad to read though that it wasn't a scam. Thank goodness for this forum!!!
Hi all, I found that the easiest way to stop these annoying marketing calls was to add the number to contacts and then send all calls from the number to voicemail. As my voicemail is turned off all marketing spam disappears into the ether without me being aware that it ever came in.
So I got an unwanted , and not request call from virgin media sales team while I was at work. How would virgin media and the sales team like me to cancel my TV, broadband and mobile if they don't realize most people aren't allowed to answer calls at work , un requested calls are annoying and does virgin media encourage there customers to give personal information about there account details over the phone to strangers?
