I'll be honest in that it sounded way more like a scam call than a real VM call so asking to opt out wasn't forefront in my mind. I just wanted to know how they had got a mobile number which I only ever give to close friends and my work colleagues.
The number is blocked on my mobile now as I use the phone for work and I can do without randoms calling during the day.
Just had these people ring me - absolute shocking.
Firstly they explained that I will soon be experiencing drop outs on my Broadband and as a valued customer blah blah blah they can help reduce that. I asked how they could do this and if they were going to send out a new router...apparently this service which fixes the drop out issue (which I don't have) is not another router.
Absolute scam! I had to say that if there's a chance I will be experiencing drop outs, I will need to speak to Retentions to cancel.
Then had another 5 minutes of them trying to sell me a mobile phone package, when I'm already with Virgin and 1 year into a 3 year contract.
Just a bit miffed at the deceitful nature of the call tbh with regards to service drop outs.
