ok so its been three days now with the screen displaying starting up. cannot get through to a virgin helpline, no-one answers! i'm paying for this awful service. i am considering getting rid of it!

It's disappointing that your TiVo box is stuck in start up and you're having issues speaking to the team, this ins't good.
Can you confirm if you've already tried rebooting the box by switching it off at the plug and switching back on after 5 minuets?
Can you also confirm which box it is you have - is it a TiVo or V6?
