Whilst the picture quality improvements of high resolution is very real and much appreciated, as an ex electronics engineer I get annoyed when it seems like BASIC things are done badly. Specifically, video levels. Why does all white clip the peak level? Why is excessive HF peaking being applied? Or are these products of digital compression? Its so annoying to watch football where any team in white shirts loose all detail on the shirts. Its so bad that wide shots, where the players are relatively small, the names on the shirts become lost in the clipped, smeary white blob.
