node Discovery Tune Failure

Hello,

I am unable to access Catch Up or OD services (except for BBC iPlayer which does work), receiving the error On Demand is Not Available with which contains the message of "nodeDiscoveryTuneFailure".

I have reset the device (twice) to no avail.  Online diagnostics says everything is fine and service status is my area is shown as ok too.

Please can you assist?

I'm afraid it is still the same.  I have tried restarting the TiVo box multiple times but when I try to use OD/CatchUp for any channels other than BBC it says "On Demand is Temporarily Unavailable.  (V205)" and later in the message "nodeDiscoveryTuneFailure".

Hi Adi_M,

 

Are you able to confirm whether it is one of our older TiVO models or a V6 Tivo that you've got?

In the Network Settings when you choose Connect To The TV Service Now, does it connect successfully for you?

Is it all On Demand outside of BBC channels that you receive the node error or just the V205 error?

Hi Tom_S,

It is one of the older TiVo models, not the V6.

System Info says

Platform: SMT-C7101

Hardware Version 4.0,

Software Version 20.8.1.RC9-VMS-C8A

TiVo Box Name <DVR C782>

Is there any other info you require?

I went to the Network section in settings and chose Connect to the Virgin Media Service now.  It ran through successfully (albeit the last Loading Info stage took about 10 mins).  I then tried the various Catch Up services one by one

ITV: V205 error and nodeDiscoveryTuneFailure

Channel 4: V205 error and nodeDiscoveryTuneFailure

Channel 5: V205 error and nodeDiscoveryTuneFailure

Sky One: V205 error and nodeDiscoveryTuneFailure

BBC still works.  Are there other channels you wish me to try?

Thank you for the update Adi,

 

Have you been able to try the Test Connection to see what results you get?

Have you been able to ensure that all of the cables are 'finger tight' at both ends? Particularly the coaxial cables.

This is likely something where I'm going to have to take a look at the account for you, however please try these steps first and let me know if they make any difference for you.

Hello Tom_S,

By Test Connection do you mean the Test under Check Service Status on my VirginMedia account?  Yes I did that initially and I've done it again today.  It says there are no faults with my equipment.

I've also reset by TiVo box several times (both via the Help & Settings menu option and also by physically turning everything off/on at the plug).

I've checked the cables are all tight, they are.

I've run the Connect to the TV Service routine as per previous messages.  That runs fine but the issue persists.

I think you're going to have to take a look at the account for me please as I still get the V205 message for all CatchUp/OD except BBC iPlayer.
