Virgin TV on my desktop computer

Rillington
Up to speed

As I understand it, Virgin Media Go allows customers to watch the channels available on Virgin TV, and maybe even more, on another device. is this possible on your home desktop computer?

If so, then what channels and content is accessible vis my desktop computer?

Hi @Rillington

Yes it's possible to watch TV programs on your desktop computer using the VM TVGo app, however the channels available will depend upon your TV package and also the individual channel and/or program rights.

Details of the app and devices etc can be found here

Thank you for your reply.

It says that it only works with a mobile device or a tablet. So my question is:

Doe sit work with a desktop Mac computer?

It also indicates the Tivo box has to be switched on and that I would have to connect via wi-fi. I use an ethernet cable to connect to the internet so does this mean that unless I switch to wifi i would not be able to access my VM TV service's available channels on my desktop computer?

Where does it say that. To watch live TV and On Demand using TV Go through a web browser on a computer you don't need your TV box on - https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-tv-go-with-a-browser

It's the recording and series management features that need the box to be on.

And just to add, the Ethernet connection on a TiVo isn't for an internet connection - that's inbuilt on a TiVo.

The Ethernet is only used for in-home streaming/control functions.

It's different to a V6 which doesn't have an in-built modem.

Thank you for the clarification Ben.

I've read through the information on the VM website and it says that 110 channels are available but it doesn't say what they are. Is there a definitive list available?

The information also states that you can access various Apps. Again, is there a list and are Tivo customers able to access Apps via Virgin TV Go which are not available via the set-top box, and if so, which are available?

Hi Rillington,

Thank you for reaching back out to us, you can find out more around TV Go here?

Regards

Paul.
