Tivo box fatal error

My TIVO box is displaying the following message on the TV.

”The DVR has detected a serious problem and is now attempting to fix it”

I’ve left it for about 5 days, and no fix has happened. The box cycles through paroxysms of all the lights on brightly, then off, then on again in various combinations, before returning to all on at full brightness.

I suggest the hard drive is corrupted and will never fix itself. I had an old TIVO box which I got of eBay, but it won’t connect - presumably because the MAC address is not on my account.

What’re the chances of VM just posting me a new box, and I’ll self install?

Hi a you correctly say you have wasted your money buying a box that is the property of virgin, as only a box supplied by virgin and linked to your account at your address will work. Regards Micky

Thank you for that useful observation.

The only reason I bought the box In the first place was to try and self solve the problem.

I’m afraid I’m done with spending HOURS on the phone hanging on for someone to give me a patronising ‘diagnostic’.

If there’s anyone from the customer service team reading this, please send me a new TIVO and I’ll self install to preserve your social distancing.
