TiVo playback freezing

Hello, our TiVo box stutters and freezes frequently on playback of recordings, including live TV but not on live broadcasts. I understand this is most likely a HDD problem? Anyway to back up our recordings before getting a technician to rectify the problem? TIA

Really sorry to hear you're having trouble with your TiVo® recordings.

 

Unfortunately, there is no way to transfer recordings from the TiVo® to another device. Would you still like me to arrange a technician?

I've located your account and can see that there is an intermittent issue affecting the TiVo® at the moment, under the fault reference F005157759, with a review set for this evening.

 

If possible, could you monitor this issue for us and get back to us if you continue to have trouble with this?

 

With this in mind, if you still have trouble tomorrow, before contacting us, could first try the following to see if this improves performance for you?:

 

*It may help to speed up the box by clearing the suggestions - Home - Help & Settings - Clear or Reset TiVo box - Clear Thumb Ratings & Suggestions - Enter Pin - To proceed - press Thumbs Down three times and then "LAST Ch" button on the remote.

 

Let me know how you get on with this,

Hi,

I tried clearing the suggestions a while ago and this problem still keeps happening consistently so I think it probably is a hard drive issue - can you let me know how to resolve it please?

If you're still experiencing the same issue then, as you've already said, it could indicate an issue with the TiVo® hard drive.

 

I've sent you a private message (purple envelope at the top right of your screen) so I can arrange for a technician to check this out for you.
