ive just got off the phone from Virgin and this time they said they’ll replace it with a V6, so I’m just going to leave it. Hopefully your trick will help someone else in the future though.

Jonathan, see Danny’s suggestion, or otherwise kick up a fuss with Virgin.  Their solution for mine was to swap it out!

Many thanks, but I've got lots of recording on there that I don't want to lose so I don't want to go down that road!

I've been on the phone to Virgin but there was nothing they could do so are coming to install a V6 box in the next few days.

Any other advice on how to get rid of this screen would be much appreciated!

Hi Danny - thanks for saving us hours of frustration with the frozen “clearing your data” screen. Wondering if you know why, despite the reboot, we still have “to be announced” on the TV guide (this was the reason we did the clear data in the first place).

normally this means it can't talk to the server that sends out the tv guide, you may have to give them a call if you haven't done a force connection

go to Home>Help&Settings>Settings>Network>Connect to the VM service now
