TIVO Box on a constant deleting everything screen

I've had a look through the forum's and have tried the holding TV, down arrow and Record at the same time and my box is effectively saying stuff you and carrying on.  I had issues with the broadband earlier and the chap said he was arranging for a new box to be sent to me.

It's been doing this for about 5 hours now and it's becoming frustrating.  When the chap said sending a new box, is this a TIVO or modem?  he never said and the line was pretty crap so didn't want to carry on the call long.

Any ideas?
