How do I set my remote to remind me that a programme is about to start,  I don't want the remind/record function.  If I'm going to watch it I don't need to record it  🙂

This has been done numerous times before so I won't explain in detail, but.... You can either record, or record & remind.

I don't actually recall any previous threads about setting the remote to issue a reminder!

I'm sorry to hear that,   I was with BT before changing to Virgin.   There's an option on the  BT guide to set reminder for programmes.   It's one of the many things I'm already missing about BT.

There does seem to be some misunderstanding here.  You can set a remind and record option on a VM TiVo or V6 box.  The reasons for why it isn't remind only have been debated at length on these forums.

Referring back to the opening post there has never been an option for the remote control to issue a reminder and I would be surprised if the BT TV system had this facility.

You can do this on Virgin. Just highlight the programme in the guide, press ok & select “record & remind”. You might not need to record it, but due to the way the V6 operates it has to record it, as there is not a dedicated viewing only tuner.

Thanks for the answer,   helpful but not the answer I was hoping for.   Technology deciding for me,  not a plus point   😄    That's something that bugs me.

The original question about getting reminders through the remote seems to have been lost. 'How do I set my remote to remind me that a programme is about to start'
