No Virgin wall socket for TiVo Box

Hi,

I recently received a Virgin Media TiVo box and I already have a superhub downstairs but I would like to use my TiVo box in the bedroom upstairs but the bedroom doesn’t have any access to a virgin media wall socket! Can the TiVo box work/rely via ethernet cable? Thanks

Re: No Virgin wall socket for TiVo Box

How were you able to order a QuickStart self-install when your house only has one co-ax point?

Re: No Virgin wall socket for TiVo Box

Can you just use normal TV aerial sockets and plug just a normal coaxial TV aerial in to the back of the TiVo box?

VM used specialised cable. Normal TV signals & DAB radio signals can cause disruption if they get into the network, so this is a job for their techs only. It is also likely signal levels will require adjustment at the street cabinet.

It is VM's error that you were sent a self install that was not suitable, so you shouldn't need to pay the £99 alteration fee.

Cable customer since 1993. Services: FH TV, Sky Sports/Cinema (2xV6), Talk Anytime Phone, 350M BB, Virgin PAYG Mobile

Re: No Virgin wall socket for TiVo Box

Hi there WIll1121,

Welcome to the forums and for your first post 🙂

As our Superusers have advised, in order to use your box in a different room, you will require a manned installation so we can connect it to our network via our coaxial cable.

You advised you have received a new TiVo - was this ordered as a replacement for your existing box or was this as an additional box?

If it was for an additional box, we should have arranged for a manned installation for you.

Please do let me know if you need any further assistance with this TiVo and we can go from there.

Cheers

Katie - Forum Team
