I hope someone can help me. the customer phone line seems determined to just repeat the same thing over and over again without listening to what im actually asking....
Ok so, about 3 years ago i had the massive full tv, broadband and home phone package inc tivo box ( or the older tv box thingy) it was all set up perfectly fine but on set up a technician came and drilled holes in my wall to put cables through. that was not an issue. over the next years we had undisturbed tv watching, however we got into financial hardship and cut out package down to just broadband and sent out tv box back.
Now I have ( last week) decided we are able to have Tv back ( we have been on amazon and netflix for 2 years) and have since arranged to have a Tivo box delivered. however i have since change the rooms around in my home and no longer use the front room as a lounge (Terraced house) the Hub is still located there, as are all the fixings from the old box but the Coax cable is not there ( we still have the splitter) I live in a terraced house and now use the middle room as a sitting room and this is where we would like our box to be ( ideally the hub as well but have not moved that) we currently have our xbox and dvd players in the middle room connected to the internet via a Power line adaptor into the mains.
please could somebody advise me on how i can do this or if it is going to be a case of running more cables into the house. if that IS the case i am going to have to cancel the upgrade as the house is a rental and I would rather not put holes in the walls.
If you have opted for a QuickStart self-install, I would change that to a manned install. The installer will do what is necessary to place all your Virgin devices where you want them for the £40 charge.
You should not attempt to make these changes yourself. A later visit to fix any issues you caused by your attempts would cost £99.
Im not sure i got the option. i have rang several times this morning and tried to explain that it is not going to be as simple as a plug and play. it seems i need to take delivery of the box to prove to them, that i know i cant do anything with it?
If only - called, explained in detail that I needed the hub and TiVo installed in an upstairs room, Engineer put the hub in the closest room to where the cable came into the house and was not interested in helping with anything else. My hub is now in my dining room and my TV does not work.
Seriously looking at alternate vendors if this is the level of service provided
