Hey mate, I'm also having the same issue. The event has been booked on my main box in HD and it's not working on 2nd box either. I've gone into Settings > Network > Connect to the Virgin Media Service now; all complete as "Finished" yet still not working. I rang Virgin Media, obviously automated service at this time, signal retest carried out, waited 10 minutes still not working.
I paid for the HD version, I really hope refund is given.
What are we supposed to do now?
