HD TV but old scart lead box.

Hello the community.

Do I need special scart leads for my tivo box to my tv? I've changed my old leads for new ones but every time I change channel it looks like there is inteference as the channel seems to jump slightly.

I had a problem with colour distortion on the screen but it's disappeared with replacing the old scart leads with newer ones but this slight interference is there.

Thanks.

Re: HD TV but old scart lead box.

If you have a TiVo box and an HD TV, you should not be using a SCART cable connection.

You should be using an HDMI cable connection.

Re: HD TV but old scart lead box.

I've got a HDMI cable from my tivo box into my tv which isn't a scart lead and also had the scart connection between tivo and tv, the scart lead wasn't your normal scart lead but looks more like a belt if you get my drift.

Re: HD TV but old scart lead box.

Remove and destroy the SCART lead. There should only be one cable going from the TIVo to the TV - the HDMI lead. No wonder you are having issues.

Re: HD TV but old scart lead box.

It's an old tivo box, I think, if that helps any.

It's platform is 8620 and hardware version is 8.1.

Software version 20.8.1RC9-VMC-2-C00.

If that makes any sense to you.

Re: HD TV but old scart lead box.

Yes, that’s a TiVo and should be connected only by HDMI cable to your HD TV.

Re: HD TV but old scart lead box.

But if I remove the scart lead then there's no picture.

I have a tv aerial going in, the smaller HDMI cable going in and the scart lead.

I pull out the scart lead and there is no picture.
