Buffering - YouTube purchases no longer playing

I've been having this issue the last 2-3 weeks on any purchased items on YouTube via the TiVo box. Most of the items are TV shows I've had for years but they, along with any new TV/movie purchases, fail to buffer properly. I've reset the box plenty of times, deleted all my profile setting on YouTube and reinstalled. The two technical teams I spoke to tonight for over an hour were very helpful but ultimately there was nothing they could do (speed tests all fine etc and purchases work fine on all other devices where Youtube is loaded, and all other services like TV channels of Netflix are fine; it's JUST purchased items on YouTube these past few weeks).

Any users out there who can offer a slither of hope for me/a solution, then please do get in touch.

First World Problems, I know!

Ditto on all counts! Playback was perfect a few weeks ago but now there's very bad buffering issues with severe pixelation.

Anyone else affected? Surely this is due to some kind of coding or connectivity issue with the handshake with Google purchased content, or Virgin making life difficult?

Please helo, my yound family are desparate.

But you promote YouTube as a supported app, but then all it's features, including streaming purchased content doesn't work? Slightly contradictory especially as this does work on other platforms.

What is the technical reason why it does not, or is it being blocked by Virgin media on purpose, it appears the latter?

either the contract between virgin and you tube don't allow it or you tube will only allow access directly through them not any app. likely to be the former as sky you can't do it either and their agreement stipulates the former.
