Amazon Prime

How can I view my Amazon Prime account on my TIVO? I have Netflix and that appears in my apps, but no Amazon Prime. Thanks in advance.

Re: Amazon Prime

There is no Amazon Prime app on TiVo or V6.

If you have a Smart TV, it may have an app, my Panasonic does.

Otherwise, you may need to use some streaming device connected to your TV.

Re: Amazon Prime

Are  there plans to allow the Amazon app on the v6 box?

Re: Amazon Prime

There's a thought... assuming of course that it's Amazon blocking it from the V6 and not  VM?

I'd disagree here.  Being as it's Virgin Media who update the V6 software, it would be down to them to add an Amazon Video app to it.  This would of course be dependent on them getting an agreement with Amazon to do so, so you're possibly half right.

Virgin however do play their cards close to their chest, so I wouldn't expect any information about an addition to the TiVo firmware until they were ready to publish it.

Of course this doesn't stop them from passing the suggestion up the chain.

Re: Amazon Prime

Partially agree but of course Amazon would have to develop and maintain a V6 version of the app, which they may not want to do.

In either case we will never know as neither VM or Amazon will say anything if negotiations are taking place.

Netflix progs  are basically 'free', once the subs are paid.

Amazon has a lot of premium progs, similar to VMs plans.

Is that the problem? Competition.?
