Why I Can't Install Java On Windows10?

Hello friends. For the last couple of days, I was having a problem. The problem is I am unable to install Java On my Windows 10. Guys, I am not an experienced person in this matter. So, I don't know why this is happening, and how to fix this issue. Can anyone tell me a way to solve this problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

@Jayjones

Have you tried the manual installation?

I've installed Java loads of times on my Windows PCs over many years. Are you getting an error?

Re: Why I Can't Install Java On Windows10?

Hi Jayjones,

Javascript is now unsupported in Windows, but you should be able to turn on the installed default version by following these instructions:

Go to Settings (3 dots top right of your screen) then >

Privacy and Security > Site Settings > Javascript > Default Behaviour <> Site can use Javascript should be highlighted. If not, click on it and it should work once you refresh your browser.

The OP asked about Java not Javascript, they are two different things:

Re: Why I Can't Install Java On Windows10?

It should be noted that there are two versions of Java, a 32 bit version and a 64 bit version.  For example, if you use OpenOffice you'll need the 32 bit version, but if you use LibreOffice, you'll need the 64 bit version.

It is possible to install both versions on a Win10 machine.

32 bit version
goes in C:\Program Files (x86)
64 bit version
goes in C:\Program Files

It is imperative that you install each version in its correct folder, as both versions are incompatible with each other (i.e. 32 bit software won't detect a 64 bit runtime installation and vice versa).

Fortunately you'll only have to do this once, and when installed either version will pick up updates for both versions.

Hope this helps.

Thanks to all for replying. Guys, after lots of searching on Google, I found this. I think it is safe to use; I do have not much more knowledge about this. Guys, what are you saying?

Are you able to download programs (installers)? Are you getting any error messages?  If so, post them here.
