What is this piece of street furniture?

In our area Virgin Media have been upgrading for FTTP.

While they have been doing these yellow boxes (I have attached a pic) have appeared. Looking at them it look like easy access to cables

So just bring nosey… does anyone know what they are and called?

From a previous topic, IIRC, I think it is a temporary cover over the hole before a cabinet is fitted.

A few weeks ago Community fibre dug a hole etc and then left that yellow thing roof on top near me (now a full on cabinet is there).  Cannot say if the yellow roof is standard or could change with different providers?

I believe that these are usually yellow to aid visibility so people don't trip and fall on the cover (which is not sturdy).

It is said that Virgin Media is where customer service came to die, and that looks very coffinish to me.  Maybe you could lay some flowers on top to complete the look?
