Virgin Media web site keeps telling me my browser isn't compatible

Sometimes when I google a question about Virgin Media options or ... and click on a link I get a message saying my browser isn't compatible / not the latest version.

Yet I can easily sign in etc..

Just pointing this out as someone who isn't a customer may get this error message and not follow through an interest in becoming a customer.

By the way there is nothing less reassuring about a provider whose web site tells someone there browser is compatible.

Roads dont say you can only use us if you have a particular type of car even so even an ancient banger can use roads.

If you tech people cant create a web site that can be used by someone with older software in the same way as someone on a mobile you need to wonder why they are doing the job.

Re: Virgin Media web site keeps telling me my browser isn't compatible

I am using Firefox 79.0

It only happens if I try to access the site via a link (eg to this question) but if I paste the link into the browser it works fine!

So obviously the site is accessible in this version of Firefox.

ok so not a problem with the website then if you can access when entering the URL yourself.

Re: Virgin Media web site keeps telling me my browser isn't compatible

It may be an add on, but someone at  or employed by Virgin Media wrote the script and programmed the web site to post this message in response to ..... ?

As I say if I was a potential customer and got this messag after clicking on a link that suggested Virgin Media had the package I wanted, I would probably not bother.

The web site didn't program itself!
