Powerline adapter for vivid 350

Hi.

Recently I upgraded my broadband to vivid 350

As my current powerline adapter is only capable for 100mb I need one with gigabit Ethernet.

Anyone know is this one can handle 350mb/s?

Yes it is good for 1300 Mbps so will handle your 350 Mbps service.  Bear in mind it has no WiFi capability and the 'slave' plug has only one Ethernet port.

Bear in mind what is quoted for these is "up to" speeds. Performance is still reliant on the standard of your house wiring & what the "signal" has to pass through between the two units. If you are going from one ring main to another expect some loss, especially if there are RCCB's in the circuit.

Re: Powerline adapter for vivid 350

If you are paying for a 350 circuit then I would expect to get full use and speed from it and the only guaranteed way is to use CAT5e/6 cable. In most cases with some ingenuity it can be hidden and it’s the best long term solution whoever your ISP is.

Re: Powerline adapter for vivid 350

ye but if there is no option to use just a cable than powerline is only best solution, WiFi is a no option at all for me.

That's why I ask is this powerline from tplink good enough, maybe someone had it and can say something about it.

I'm not expecting to have constant 350Mb/s but close to 300 is ok for me as atm I can only reach 100,

On my phone I can get around 230-250 so I thing with powerline adapter it can go close to 300.

Re: Powerline adapter for vivid 350

What you get on your phone is nothing to do with how the powerline will perform. I presume the phone is using WiFi.

How close are the two powerline adapters going to be? In the same room that kit might manage the full speeds of the connection. The speeds drop pretty rapidly with distance though and if not on the same circuit you aren't getting close to full speed.

Re: Powerline adapter for vivid 350

I know that it wont be the same as wifi but if I get close to that I will be happy.

More than ~300Mb/s DL I wanted that 20Mb/s upload for streaming.

My room and socket is just over the room with router, in straight line, maybe there is 2-3 meters from socket to socket.

I just rent this room/flat so I have no idea how circuit is, but with my current adapter I can manage to get max.

well it wont be worse than what I have atm.

Unfortunately I'm a bit short of money now so I have to "delay" a bit this purchase but once I get it, I can report how it perform.

Obviously it wont be the same for everybody just and idea how can it handle.

Cool. That's about right for the same circuit.
