New Fibre home phone line

Have received notification of pending switch over to fibre home phone. Problem: Hub is mounted in one room from cable link to outside. Phone connection is in another room from which 4 extensions are run. Phone connection was adapted from old BT network. How to link phone connection to Hub output without extensive rewiring.

You need to book VM to connect your existing phone extensions to the hub's phone socket as part of the switchover process (something they should offer to do FOC when the hub and phones are in different locations and can't be moved together).

When to book a free technician visit
*You rely on your landline for accessibility needs or don’t have a mobile to make an emergency call – we’ll provide you with an Emergency Back Up Line so you’re always able to call emergency services.
*You’ve got connected devices such as a burglar alarm linked to a control centre, use a telecare device, or have other phones connected to extension sockets.
*You’ll need to contact your provider and let them know about the switch if you have any of these to make sure they’re compatible with a fibre service.
*The Hub and phone can’t be placed near each other.

Alternative approach (at your expense), consider getting a cordless phone system. Plug the cordless base station into the phone socket of the VM hub and use cordless extensions around the home as required.
