Modem

I currently have a Super Hub 2, and it is not good enough to service all the tech the family have.

Want to upgrade to a Super Hub 4 but cannot get through to Virgin Team to order it!!

Any suggestions

Ken

Re: Modem

you won't get an upgrade to a hub4 unless you change to the 1Gbps package, or are in a DOCSIS3.1 area with conjestion issues.

it's the hub3 you will get, and it may not be any better than your current hub.
what issues are you specifically having?

Re: Modem

You can't request an upgrade to a Hub 4 specifically.

It's available as part of the paid upgrade to Gig1. Or Virgin Media may offer it to a customer in an area where it can help manage the network.

With any of the Hubs you can put them into modem mode and choose your own router to help with your home network requirements. However that won't change how devices use your paid tier of broadband.

Re: Modem

Not sure that helps me, my family have two mobiles, two tablets and a laptop i use for work.
The SH2 only copes with 3 units at a time.

Re: Modem

why do you say it wouldn't help you? it would most definitely help you.
boosters from virgin will cost you extra money each month, you would be better spending that money on your own router.

Re: Modem

You are helpful but I am not tech savvy and would not be confident i could set it up properly.

If i purchased my own wifi set up i dont need the SH2?

Re: Modem

no, you still need to use the virgin hub, but as a modem only.
any router/kit you buy would connect to the hub and then any device you have connects to the new kit.
