@ MrHalfAsleep It's great that Brian (Britac09) has a fix for these quirks ⛑. Or windows would just have to go in the bin 🗑

You'd think someone would give him a job, since he fixes stuff himself (his stuff is always worth a look and is a good starting point for novice users).  The usual stuff doesn't always work and punters are left flapping in the breeze.

There's a couple more updates that fix bits of timezone stuff and the borked network drive mapping. Smiley Happy  One may bork Windows media player.Smiley Sad

OS Build 17763.168 for those playing along at home.  They haven't borked stuff as far as I can gather.

Re: I downloaded Windows 10 vers 1803

That was a bit of a revelation.  I had no idea they were using the 'Check For Updates' button as an open sesame to all their Beta updates!  I shall be keeping well away from that button from now on.

Re: I downloaded Windows 10 vers 1803

As a Home user this foisted itself on me a few hours ago: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4483235/december192018kb4483235osbuild17763195.  Apparently it fixes IE11. OS Build 17763.195 for those playing along at home.  As I've said before elsewhere, home users are now beta testers.  The check for updates button is irrelevant and I think some settings have been changed.  I wonder if that is a GDPR issue.Smiley IndifferentMan Mad

Speaking of borked (it's spreading), the above link is.  Here is the fixed version: https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/12/18/microsoft_round_up/.  I like to live on the (Microsoft) Edge and press it (the button of irrelevance, that is) every now and again.  Otherwise I'd have no material to fill this up with.Smiley Very Happy
