Re: I downloaded Windows 10 vers 1803

Not sure what's going on, but I've just spent the last hour or so connecting me sister's printer back up.  The old IP address (192.168.0.4) mysteriously disappeared despite creating a network reservation for this IP.  This has happened before a couple of times and after a bit of faffing about everything is working as it should.Smiley Indifferent

They put this out the other day; whether it restores deleted files or not, I can't say (poetic, that).

https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4464330/windows-10-update-kb4464330

It takes home users to build 17763.55.

Re: I downloaded Windows 10 vers 1803

Windows has grown larger and larger with each new version, what could once be installed with one DVD would now take about 4 DVDs to install from  DVD disk.   The latest Windows folder size on the insiders installed release (18262 build) is 16.9GB (4.49GB for the previous insiders release) in size plus there are many other folders and files added onto the root drive with the install as well.

Leaving out a lot made the Install quicker for the October release but meant the user would have to install more drivers and files, depending on the users needs later.

Re: I downloaded Windows 10 vers 1803

For those who are having problems, I found this last night: https://sourceforge.net/projects/tlpd/ which may (or may not) fix the problem.  It seems to have a good write up...

Re: I downloaded Windows 10 vers 1803

Indeed. Smiley Indifferent  They're having problems downloading and installing the preview editions as well, these last two editions took umpteen downloads and installs but eventually installed. Now on 18267.1001 preview build.

Still there's some nice backgrounds out there to find and install Smiley Happy
