Re: Has anyone tried the new Windows 10 vers 1709 yet?

Win 10 1709
64bit - Pro Stable and most previous bugs fixed - Automatic updates enabled.
Better than previous edition with unable to installs etc.

Win Insider running on another partition - stick with 1709 unless you are "tech savvy" and want to sort out bugs.

Re: Has anyone tried the new Windows 10 vers 1709 yet?

Downloading AMD processor based updates:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4048955/windows-10-update-kb4048955 and the newer one which is something to do with WinHTTP (internet/browser based stuff) " [quoted from page:] Any application or service that relies on WinHTTP is impacted." https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4051963/windows-10-update-kb4051963

It'll be interesting to see if they work.

Re: Has anyone tried the new Windows 10 vers 1709 yet?

More than 9 hours to install this on me sisters older Win7 laptop.  At 1-15 this morning it finally finished.  Man Mad  It did, however, fix the Wifi, bumping the speed up from a very poor 20Mb to around 80Mb.Smiley Frustrated

There doesn't seem to be any logic to the build numbers.Smiley Indifferent

Things do, however, seem to be working well on the PC.  They're doing something right.Smiley Surprised

Re: Has anyone tried the new Windows 10 vers 1709 yet? (the saga continues!) Episode 49 - Hope it works!

It's me again.  If you are having trouble downloading this update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4056892/windows-10-update-kb4056892 try disabling your anti-virus software, otherwise it'll put you in a constant download loop and NOT install it.  It is rather helpful in giving you error numbers.

Forgot to add that there are 2 updates in this one, and you'll need to restart the computer twice for it to run the 2nd update.  Not sure if this is peculiar to AMD machines.
