Re: HOSTING COMPANY AT FAULT?

The actual address is: www.getvirgin.co.uk/theslateyard

Goes direct to hosting company....it is a valid address

getvirgin.co.uk/****** *****   also has a direct link to salesperson that is handling the package sales at our addresses..

Re: HOSTING COMPANY AT FAULT?

looks like there is no website there. Its a holding page for the domain.

Not a fault really. There is nothing to see

How can you tell that Slate Yard is legit?

Re: HOSTING COMPANY AT FAULT?

What do you mean by that?

Virgin Media Partners is a valid Virgin Media site, and the The Slate Yard is a residential development in Manchester

Re: HOSTING COMPANY AT FAULT?

The internet is awash with fake business and domain names which look legitimate. I don't see a Partners page on the virginmedia.com website.

Re: HOSTING COMPANY AT FAULT?

@James_W

Are you able to confirm whether the Slate Yard site is legitimate or not?

The ICANN lookup for virginmediapartners.com would appear to indicate that the domain itself is owned by Virgin Media.

https://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?name=virginmediapartners.com

That's because it's designed for working with partner companies and targeted offers e.g. if Virgin Media agree to give a company an offer for their staff, it would be managed through the partner site.

So there is no reason for it to be linked from the main virginmedia.com site.

I don't disagree about the need to be careful on this. But I still don't quite understand the original reason for the query and what the issue with the site is?
