Re: Can't access a website on phone wi-fi

Those Hostname results are confirmation that different DNSs are in use and explains the inconsistent behaviour between devices when accessing https://www.greatgifts.co.uk.

To correct this issue either:

  • use Google's DNS (or similar service like Quad9) on your phone
  • turn Web Safe off or add greatgifts.co.uk to the list of allowed website list

Note: Web Safe's sometimes silent intercepting / manipulation of network traffic may not make it the right choice for everyone (IMHO)

Re: Can't access a website on phone wi-fi

For some weeks I've been experimenting with dns.adguard.com and it's working well. In my Samsung Galaxy phone you set this under Private DNS.

Sorry but it is unclear what you turned off, did you turn Web Safe off or some other Safe mode option on your phone? if the latter then you should turn it back on and post back here for further help.

I turned off safe mode in Chrome on my phone, accessed the site and then turned it back on.  The site still works now so it must have done something to the settings but I've got safe mode back on.
