Cable type

I would like to buy a longer cable to run from the wall socket to my router. Can anyone advice me what the make of cable I need is so I can buy it online?

you can't buy such cables.
you need to get virgin to do it.

You can't buy it online (or anywhere else). It is specialised triple cable designed to keep Freeview & DAB radio signals out of the network. It is also against Virgin's T & Cs to tamper with their network cabling.

The cost to get the job done properly is £99, for a tech to make up the cable on site & check your signal levels are correct after the alterations.

it would be against the T&C and the reason most of the SNR and connection faults are on the network is someone int he area has a DIY job

No you can’t. You can buy “similar” cable (HD100 triple screened is the nearest type, but many cable companies are now resorting to quad screened) but it must still be fitted correctly to avoid micro reflections & RF ingress. A significant number of the service disrupting SNR issues on the network get traced to DIY cable alterations.
