Broadband usage increased for no reason

Can anyone suggest why I've used over 28 Gb in 20 days when my average has been less than 18 Gb a month for years?!

Re: Broadband usage increased for no reason

Maybe the websites you use are delivering heavier bandwidth content?.

Re: Broadband usage increased for no reason

Previous suggestions could be correct, but a couple more possibilities:

1) You (or another household user) has signed up to a streaming website, or a cloud backup & synch service?

2) You had, but are not currently running an ad-blocker?  Most of the bandwidth used on casual web browsing comes from streaming advertising media, or crappy autorun content videos, and if you've taken off your adblocker, you could easily increase browsing data use by 50%.
