I know a handful of you out there are very clever on this stuff.
I just noticed on https://bidb.uk/ that Openreach, through their appointed contractor, are in my street over the next week or so ( not that I am checking daily or anything).
The work could be very dull street furniture maintenance and/or an exciting incremental precursor to FTTP roll-out (the street has recently become an OR fttp priority area). I hope that someone can advise please.
The work is to "renew joint box frame and cover".
Cheers.

Don't get your hopes up too high! I think 'joint box' = 'chamber under the pavement/road' so the task sounds like changing a manhole cover/lid and frame!
Can you see them working and go and ask them directly if it looks like it is anything more exciting?
When Openreach installed FTTP in my area a few years ago, there were Openreach contractors all over the area for weeks on end working. I think you will probably recognise it when it's actually happening.

They (MJ Quinn) arrive on Friday. I'll be standing on the manhole waiting for them.
