tv control app

Hi. have 2 x V6 boxes. When using TV CONTROL APP on ipad, is there a way to access the other V6 box that I'm not connected to, ie as if using guide on normal controller and accessing the other V6 boxes recordings.

Re: tv control app

Yes, there should be a drop-down box which allows you to swap between boxes.

On the iPad app, it’s top left. I only have one box in this screenshot but you should have two (or more).

Re: tv control app

Hi Ernie. Thanks, but I think I was unclear. I do have 2 boxes in the drop down box. The problem being if say, I am connected in the app to box1, and I press "my shows" at the bottom of the screen, it lists the recordings on that box but has no facility to view the recordings on box2 as is usually available using hand held remote. Any ideas?

Re: tv control app

Yes, select box2 and you will see the My Shows for box2.

Re: tv control app

aha! heres the situation. Box 1 in living room. Box 2 in daughters bedroom. I have a long HDMI cable that runs to my bedroom.

I  want to sit in bed and control box 2 on my app which I can perfectly well if I want to view normal tv and box 2 recordings. The problem is when I press my shows at bottom of screen on app, wanting to watch whats on box 1........via box 2.....the option to do that is not there, (usually at bottom of list in my shows).

Hope that is clearer. sorry Ernie

Re: tv control app

You can’t control MRS (MultiRoom Streaming) using the Virgin TV Control app.

Re: tv control app

Well, actually, you probably could but you would have to remember all the commands that you would be putting into the actual remote control without being able to see them.

Re: tv control app

Of course, you could just use the actual remote control.

Re: tv control app

The actual remote wouldnt work from my room to my daughters, but the copy of the remote just worked a treat!

The my shows function on it gives access to the other box.

Many thanks Ernie
