It’s now November 2018 and the iOS app *still* takes 40 secs to ‘connect’ on launch. When are Virgin going to sort this out? Currently the app. is unusable. Even if the app is running, if the iOS device is ‘asleep’ (screen off) it goes through the connection process again on wake, taking another 40 secs.

It is a good app but it is no use whatsoever until this issue is sorted out.

I guess Virgin just isn't bothered

But it seems so poor to develop it, have it working fine for a number of years - the not - and not at least say what the strategy to update it is

Same issue here, when finally connected have issues with programs listing not updating- doesn’t matter which V6 box connected to as they both present same problem.

both v6 boxes are connected via wi-fi and not infrastructure due to location of Hub 3.

wi-fi network connected via hub and then by separate router in modem mode - makes no difference to operation of v6 boxes via app

What is the point? Quicker to find the remote and put the kettle on, than waiting for connection. Why??

What a disappointing and unacceptable response to your customers! If you are not aware of what may be causing the delay, can you please make a point of finding out? This has gone on for months now, with an ever-increasing number of customers complaining via this forum about an issue that arose as a result of a Virgin software update.
