Re: iOS app now woefully slow to connect

I have the same issue. Had it a little while now. Definitely was better a while ago.

Why no response from Virgin? (Except Josh on 11/07).

I have iPad, iPhone 8 and Nokia 8, all have the same issue .

Maybe it is the virgin WiFi which is the issue?

Re: iOS app now woefully slow to connect

It’s nothing to do with WiFi. This slow connection was a direct result of RC20 firmware on V6. There must have been some change to how the Virgin TV Control app interacts with the V6 during the connection process.

Re: iOS app now woefully slow to connect

So if the issues is known, why can we be told what is being done to fix it?

Re: iOS app now woefully slow to connect

So, interestingly, I just accessed the TV Control app about an hour ago to set up a series link and it loaded quite quickly this time. I just loaded it again 2 minutes ago to check and still loaded speedily! I accessed via 4G out of the house. So, not sure if I was just lucky or if they've tinkered with something in the background.

Re: iOS app now woefully slow to connect

I do not think so. Outside the house on 4G has always been ok. Just inside the house is the concern.

Re: iOS app now woefully slow to connect

I have had similar problems on 4G as on Wifi, to be honest... I'll try when I get home and see if that's also improved...

Re: iOS app now woefully slow to connect

My app has just taken 52 seconds from opening to the guide appearing.  Once it’s running, it’s fine. I hope we get a fix soon.

Re: iOS app now woefully slow to connect

Hi all,

Thanks for your posts and apologies to hear you're having issues connecting to the Control app.

There is a lot of back ground work going on in the background to improve things so I've passed your feedback over to the teams however a delay wouldn't really make it a priority. They would be working on issues that are not working beforehand.

Once we have any news of a fix we'll let you know.

Thanks,

Kath_F

Re: iOS app now woefully slow to connect

Sorry Kath I cannot agree with your answer.

This is an issue which is upsetting customers.  In my case very upset.  Can you clarify to us your users what features are not working on the app which they are working on instead.  A list would be fine.

The route cause has already been identified (see Ernie_C reply).  This should make finding a solution quicker and easier.

Please deal with this issue as a matter of priority.
