I cannot delete obsolete devices from my virgin tv go app, as I want o watch Sky Sports on my new tablet, and Sky only allows 3 devices maximum.

You can manage your registered devices for the VM-TV-Go app at https://virgintvgo.virginmedia.com/en/settings/device-management.html
Sky Sports app device management is separate, and is at http://manage-virgintvgo.virginmedia.com/skydevices
